CYBER THREATS: UNDERSTANDING THE DIGITAL DANGER

In today's hyper-connected world, cyber threats are evolving faster than ever. At Cyber Siksha Suraksha Foundation, we believe that being informed is the first step toward being secure. Below, we highlight the most common cyber threats that every citizen must be aware of to stay protected.

1. Digital Arrest & Customs Scams

This is a modern form of psychological warfare. Criminals pose as Police, CBI, or Customs officials via video calls, claiming that your name is linked to illegal parcels or criminal activities. They use fear to keep you under "Digital Arrest" for hours until you transfer large sums of money.

2. Customer Care & Screen Sharing Scams

Criminals create fake customer care numbers on Google. When you call, they instruct you to download remote access apps like AnyDesk or TeamViewer. Once installed, they gain full control of your device and can access your banking apps, OTPs, and private data.

3. Financial & Investment Frauds

From Fake Loan Apps that blackmail users to Telegram Task Scams promising easy money for "liking videos," these scams are designed to drain your savings.

4. Public Wi-Fi & QR Code Scams

Convenience often leads to risk. Public Wi-Fi at airports or cafes can be intercepted, and malicious QR codes are everywhere.

5. AI Deepfakes & Voice Cloning

Cybercriminals are now using AI to morph your photos into compromising images (Sextortion) or cloning the voices of your loved ones to ask for emergency funds.

6. Typosquatting & Phishing

Criminals create websites that look identical to banks, airlines, or government portals (e.g., changing 'sbi.co.in' to 'sbi.online.co').

REPORT A THREAT IMMEDIATELY

If you have fallen victim to any of the above, do not stay silent. Your prompt action can help track the fraudster.
